Hello fellow dental students!

Welcome to On The Cusp (OTC), an educational initiative created with the goal of sharing digestible information about dental technologies. OTC was established in the midst of our first year of DDS at Schulich Dentistry, Western University. Although we had just begun our time as dental students, we were inspired by how we will be entering the workforce where many aspects of dentistry are digital. The topic of technology is not always the easiest to follow and we have limited exposure to dental tech during our undergraduate years. However, we hope that OTC serves as a platform where dental tech can be as comprehensible to students as it is exciting. 

It is time to get your foot in the door of dental technology. Throughout the OTC page, you will find infographic articles that highlight a particular aspect of technology, accompanied by a Spotify podcast interview with renowned guest speakers. Upcoming insights into the world of dental tech include CAD/CAM milling, 3D printing, CBCT and more. With OTC, we hope that you will find an entertaining and informative way to learn the basics behind dental technologies. It is never too early to start having conversations that will prepare ourselves as students for the realities of general practice in these technologically advanced times.
